Pillow Pets Review

It’s a Pillow Pet!” That is what I heard for two months after my eight year old daughter saw her first Pillow Pet ad on TV. “Please Mommy, I want a Pillow Pet SO BAD!”

I heard the same thing after she saw the Bendaroo ads, purchased the Bendaroos, and now they sit untouched in the closet. I didn’t want to repeat this “as seen on TV” cycle.

But last week I finally gave in. Maybe it was the fact that the company donates these soft pillows to children with cancer. Or perhaps it was the constant Pillow Pet song I heard every day. Either way, we ordered the Bee Pillow Pet online and looked for delivery every-day-since. “Is it here? Did it come?” Then yesterday, it happened. The Pillow Pet arrived.

My first impression was at how much smaller it looked in person than it does on TV. The Bee Pillow Pet is a perfect size for my daughter, but it looks much smaller than the pets they show on their online video ad. I don’t think I would want the pillow any larger, but it was enough size difference that I re-watched the video commercial to compare our size to the ad size.

Other than that, our new Pillow Pet seems to be everything the company states it will be. The stitching is solid, the “open and close” action works just fine… and ohhhh the softness. Softer than chenille – so soft that you want to sit and pet it like an animal. My daughter teased that I might just want a pillow pet of my own, and I actually considered it.

We received the pillow yesterday afternoon and it has been in my daughter’s hands ever since. When I came home she was resting on it as she completed her homework. It’s gone in the car, it’s gone into gymnastics and it was on her bed the minute we got home. She slept on it all night and snuggled it in the morning.

When she picked out the bee I was surprised. Personally, I felt it wasn’t as cute as some of the others. But in person, the bee is simply charming. I think it is the huge happy grin and the antennae that sells it’s cuteness.
